Born in 2020 out of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to small businesses and vendors, the idea for the Pop-Up Mākeke emerged as a platform for small businesses to come together and thrive. Mākeke in the Native Hawaiian language means marketplace. Now nearly four years later, Pop-Up Mākeke has grown and expanded its reach far beyond Hawaiʻi, while still being true to our founding purpose. Since its inception, Pop-Up Mākeke has proudly supported over 500 businesses, delivering their products to customers around the globe. Many of our vendors have experienced tremendous growth and success through our platform, and we take pride in expanding our Mākeke family.
